This week's theme: Practices that shape a life with God
Sorry this is late, please send a gentle reminder if I fail to post on Monday.
Monday - Prayer: Luke 11:1–13
Connect: Prayer is more than saying the right words; it's a relationship of dependence on God.
Reflect: What part of Jesus’ model prayer challenges you?
Tuesday - Fasting: Isaiah 58:1–12
Connect: Scripture presents fasting not as a way to earn God’s favor, but as a practice that deepens sincere devotion and neighbor-love.
Reflect: Is there a practical way your devotion to God can lead you to meet someone’s need?
Wednesday — Service: John 13:1–17
Connect: Christian service flows from belonging to Christ and receiving his love.
Reflect: Whom could you serve in a quiet, concrete way without expecting recognition?
Thursday — Worship
Reading: Psalm 95:1–11
Connect: The psalm holds together celebration of God’s greatness and the daily response of trusting obedience.
Reflect: What might help you move from singing or speaking praise to listening and responding to God?
Friday — Confession: Psalm 32:1–11
Connect: Confession is an honest response to God’s grace. The psalm presents forgiveness as a reason for renewed trust, teachability, and joy.
Reflect: What do you need to bring before God or address with someone you have wronged?
Saturday — Simplicity: Matthew 6:19–34
Connect: Simplicity is about the direction of the heart; Jesus challenges the grip of the world so that our allegiance and attention can be centered on God.
Reflect: What possession, pursuit, or worry is taking more of your attention than it should?
Sunday — Solitude, meditation, and study
Readings: Mark 1:35–45, Psalm 119: 9–16
Connect: Jesus’ withdrawal is not an escape but a way to renew his communion with the Father. Scripture should be taken to heart—not merely read, but remembered, reflected on, and lived.
Reflect: When can you make unhurried space to be with God and reflect on Scripture, then carry what you receive into the week ahead?
